Holocanthus tricolor

This splendid fish adorned in yellow, black and orange red with a sapphire blue eye, is one of the toughest angelfishes from the Caribbean. I have kept several specimens of this slow growing species for well over four years. Once adjusted to home aquarium life, they greedily accept all forms of food, and like the surgeons and tangs and other marine angelfishes, particularly relish the frequent inclusion of fresh spinach and chopped lettuce in their diet. This is very important to remember for the aquarist maintaining a tank under the clinical system. The algae growing naturally on the corals and rocks of the natural and semi-natural system tanks will probably provide adequate green stuff without other additions.
